Sanctuaries of Color
The models in Sanctuaries of Color are both a foundation and a response to my paintings, existing in a continuous dialogue between the physical and the imagined. Sometimes, they emerge as preparatory structures—painted cardboard, layered stencils, and assembled fragments that help me experiment with spatial relationships before translating them onto canvas. Other times, they come after the paintings, materializing from the forms and compositions I’ve already explored in color and texture. This back-and-forth between painting and model-making allows me to construct and deconstruct space freely, shifting between two-dimensional and three-dimensional thinking.
