“Eleusinian Mysteries: Madness and Renewal”

In this series, my focus shifts towards a spiritual and transformative perspective of madness. The ancient rituals of Eleusis in classical Greece represented the quest for spiritual renewal and the union of life and death. This ancestral rite explored understanding beyond the tangible, and it is here where the link between madness and the “Eleusinian Mysteries” is forged.

The series is dedicated to expressing transformation and renewal, akin to the purposes of the Eleusinian mysteries. The flowers portrayed in these works, with their ephemeral beauty, symbolize the fragility of existence. However, the abstraction present in the paintings represents the depth of the human experience, much like the initiation stages in Eleusis reflected profound transformation. Therefore, these paintings aim to convey a form of creative “madness,” reflecting the boldness of exploring the unknown and the abstract.

“The Eleusinian Mysteries” stands as a natural extension of my exploration of madness, but instead of presenting it as an obstacle, it is a source of creativity and renewal. Madness emerges as the driving force behind this series, inspiring the pursuit of beauty and mystery in the abstract and unknown, just as the initiates in Eleusis did in their quest for spiritual transformation.

“Misterios Eleusinos: Locura y Renovación”

En esta serie, mi enfoque se torna hacia una perspectiva espiritual y transformadora de la locura. Los antiguos rituales de Eleusis en la Grecia clásica representaban la búsqueda de una renovación espiritual y la unión de la vida y la muerte. Este ancestral rito exploraba la comprensión más allá de lo tangible, y es aquí donde se forja el vínculo entre la locura y los “Misterios Eleusinos”.

La serie se dedica a expresar la transformación y la renovación, similar a los propósitos de los misterios eleusinos. Las flores retratadas en estas obras, con su efímera belleza, simbolizan la fragilidad de la existencia. No obstante, la abstracción presente en las pinturas representa la profundidad de la experiencia humana, al igual que las etapas de iniciación en Eleusis reflejaban una transformación profunda. Por lo tanto, estas pinturas pretenden transmitir una forma de “locura” creativa, reflejando la audacia de explorar lo desconocido y lo abstracto.

“Misterios Eleusinos” se erige como una extensión natural de mi exploración de la locura, pero en lugar de presentarla como un obstáculo, es una fuente de creatividad y renovación. La locura emerge como la fuerza motriz detrás de esta serie, inspirando la búsqueda de la belleza y el misterio en lo abstracto y desconocido, al igual que lo hacían los iniciados en Eleusis, en búsqueda de una transformación espiritual.
